Android Developer

Description

Own and develop both new application features and existing functions of the app to execute plans to enhance current TTI technology by extending it to the Android operating system, as well as mobile cross-platforms. Build new software applications to improve UI/UX features and functions for treatment experiences for chronic diseases in a fast-paced environment. Build new tools to support an aggressive development strategy. Define and strengthen development standards and ensure infrastructure initiatives are being met. Independently design and develop new application features utilizing Java, Android Studio, Gradle, localization and reactive programming. Obtain health data from embedded systems such as smartwatches and smartphones to integrate data from other smart products and develop IoT features. Integrate mobile application features with 3rd party APIs & cloud services. Leverage knowledge of computer networking tools and back-end servers to integrate services/tools from TTI partners into TTI apps and platforms. Debug applications using Test Driven Development (TDD) to improve user experience and/or user interface. Use Espresso or related tools to write unit and integrated tests. Conduct ongoing code reviews in GitHub to maintain version control, ensure a clean code base and best-in-class software documentation. Regularly collaborate with TTI’s Engineer Team to brainstorm and plan creative solutions to improve the iOS App and optimize the Android version. Oversee the Android app’s successful submission to the Google Play store, taking responsibility for assets, documentation, correspondence, and submission management. Participate in all aspects of the product lifecycle including requirements gathering, functional mapping, design, development, quality assurance (QA) and ongoing maintenance.  Execute and deliver products and feature updates on aggressive timelines, both for internal needs and client needs.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

  • 12 months of experience as an Android Developer

  • Prior work experience must include development with 3rd party APIs, cloud services, Gradle, Git, Bitbucket, Dagger, RxJava, MVC, MVP and RESTful APIs in a startup environment.

  • Knowledge of IoT applications, embedded systems, computer networking tools, and backend servers as well as GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer mobile phone sensors and integration into mobile apps.
